Trump and China’s President Xi are United to Face ‘Menace’ North Korea Together

President Trump’s visit to Asia has been a huge success, and he continued to represent the country brilliantly on the international stage, meeting on Thursday with China’s President, Xi Jinping.

After two highly successful visits to Japan and South Korea, the president headed to China, where he received a ceremonial greeting reserved for the most respected of guests, including a tour of the Forbidden City.

During his visit with President Xi Jinping, President Trump discussed trade and the threat of North Korea, whose increasingly erratic behavior has been an issue for both the U.S. and China.

“The entire civilized world must unite to confront the North Korea menace and the entire world is watching us right now,” said Trump, adding, “As long as we stand together, that threat will never happen—doesn’t even have a chance.”

President Xi said that China was committed to finding a “solution for dialogue and negotiation” with North Korea, and vowed his “firm commitment” to ensuring that the rogue nation doesn’t possess nuclear weaponry.

Xi said that the relationship between the United States and China is at a “new, historic starting point,” and is looking forward our two countries working together towards peace and prosperity.

The president is already well respected in China, and unlike Obama, who was seen as weak, Trump is using his good reputation with the Chinese to acquire better, more fair trade deals for the United States.
