The family of Mark Anthony Conditt, the 23-year-old suspect in the recent Austin bombings who was killed today in an explosion, broke their silence.
“We are devastated and broken at the news that our family member could be involved in such an awful way,” said the family, adding, “Our prayers are for those families who have lost loved ones, and for the soul of our Mark.”

Law enforcement worked day and night to track down the bomber, and as they closed in, the young man took his own life with one last explosion.
Using cellular data, surveillance, security footage, and forensic analysis of the bombs, investigators were able to close in on Conditt before he could deliver another bomb.
