Sheriff Israel’s reaction to the Vegas massacre in October 2017 shines a new light on his inaction in the Parkland, FL school shooting.
Right after the Vegas mass shooting, Israel claimed that there’s nothing that can be done to stop a gunman who is “killing people” and committing “great carnage.”
Maybe this statement explains why four of his deputies failed to engage and stop gunman Nikolas Cruz.
From The Daily Wire
Israel, who made the comments speaking to CBS News Miami, said, “If you have a lone wolf assassin that’s committed to commit great carnage and killing people, there’s really nothing you can do about it.”

Many consider the comments made by Israel to be highly disturbing, especially given the latest developments in the tragic shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School where 17 students were murdered by a deranged and evil gunman while multiple police officers stood outside the building and did absolutely nothing. According to CNN:
When Coral Springs police officers arrived at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, on February 14 in the midst of the school shooting crisis, many officers were surprised to find not only that Broward County Sheriff’s Deputy Scot Peterson, the armed school resource officer, had not entered the building, but that three other Broward County Sheriff’s deputies were also outside the school and had not entered, Coral Springs sources tell CNN. The deputies had their pistols drawn and were behind their vehicles, the sources said, and not one of them had gone into the school.
This latest development has been met with extreme hostility as many are calling for Israel to immediately resign from his position.
