Today marks President Trump’s first Thanksgiving as Commander in Chief, and he addressed the country on this special American holiday.
The president said, “My fellow Americans, Melania and I would like to wish you a blessed and joyful Thanksgiving.”
In his speech, President Trump talked about the history of our great nation, starting with the first Thanksgiving, and the declaration by our first president, George Washington, of a day of thanks and prayer.
During his campaign, Trump frequently discussed the fact that American traditions and holidays were being erased and attacked, and promised to restore them to their former hallowed glory.
Under President Trump, it’s clear that holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas will be celebrated again, something many Americans had dearly missed.
