JUST IN: Another ‘Good Guy With Gun’ Stops an Illinois School Shooter DEAD in His Tracks

We have another potential school shooting that was thwarted by a “good guy with a gun.”

Wednesday morning a student entered an Illinois school with a firearm, but thankfully was quickly disarmed by Mark Dallas, a school resource officer.

From The Daily Caller

The alleged suspect, Matt Milby, 19, arrived armed at Dixon High School around 8:00 am Wednesday. When he got there, he fired shots at the resource officer on duty, hitting him. Then, the officer was able to fire back at the alleged shooter, hitting him, according to Dixon City Manager Danny Langloss.

According to Sauk Valley, Milby was a senior at Dixon High School but was recently expelled, and thus not graduating with the rest of his class.

According to the statement, no one other than the suspected shooter and Dallas were injured in the incident.

The shooting happened in the gym, where seniors were gathered for graduation practice, according to the Sauk Valley online paper.

“We’re lucky the officer was there. His brave actions saved a lot of lives,” said Langloss

The suspected shooter was a student at Dixon High School.

He is currently in police custody and is receiving medical treatment. His injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.

Dixon police believe that the shooter acted alone and that students are now safe.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
