Dallas Mayor Pushes to BAN NRA Convention From His City

In the aftermath of the Florida school shooting, where a mentally deranged teenager shot and killed 17 people, and injuring dozens of others after school officials, FBI, and local law enforcement dropped the ball, now Democrats are hysterically attacking the NRA, in yet another political stunt to push gun control.

The mayor of Dallas is getting in on the political stunt action by pushing to ban the NRA from holding their convention in his city.

Great idea, lose tons of money in revenue for the city, by banning a group of responsible, gun-owning patriots who have never gone on a mass-shooting spree.

In the wake of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, Florida, the mayor of Dallas is now working to prevent the National Rifle Association (NRA) from hosting its convention in the city this year.

The Dallas Morning News reports Mayor Pro Tem Dwaine Caraway said the NRA should not be able to host its convention, which will feature new firearms and accompanying accessories, in the city, saying it is inappropriate. The annual gathering is slated to take place May 3-6.

Writing in a statement that it is “time to put the heat on the NRA,” Caraway said it was “a tough call” but that it’s more important to put the safety of Dallas’ citizens first.

“At the end of the day, we need to connect the dots, the NRA needs to step up to the plate, and they need to show leadership,” he reiterated at a press conference. “Elected officials receiving dollars and support from the NRA and afraid to set policy and to set the necessary gun rules and responsibilities to save one, maybe.

“While we are worried about terrorists, we’re living in a terrorist society amongst us Americans today,” Caraway added.

Caraway warned that if the organization decides to proceed with its convention in Dallas, “there will be marches and demonstrations” that the city will have to bear the costs of.
