House minority leader Nancy Pelosi came under intense criticism recently, when she made the bitter statement that President Trump’s tax reform bonuses, which were given to workers due to the thriving economy, was “crumbs.”
Pelosi and other Democrats, such as Debbie Wasserman Schultz, made comments belittling the tax overhaul’s effect on the American worker, showing just how out of touch with the country they are.
In response, Republican lawmaker Todd Rokita has revealed the “Crumbs Act,” which would make bonuses tax-free, and is named in “honor” of Pelosi’s insulting comment.
“Americans are receiving thousands of dollars in bonuses and more money in their paychecks thanks to President Trump’s tax reform, but out-of-touch Democratic leaders believe they only amount to crumbs,” said Rokita.
Rokita also added, “The CRUMBS Act will let Americans keep more of the money they receive as a result of President Trump’s tax reform, and allow them, not the government, to choose how best to spend their bonuses.”
