Recently, hosts on ABC’s “The View” mocked Vice President Mike Pence for his strong Christian faith, and now, the network is receiving a flood of backlash from offended viewers.
While discussing the Vice President’s faith on the program, Joy Behar and other co-hosts questioned his sanity, with Behar saying, “It’s one thing to talk to Jesus. It’s another thing when Jesus talks to you – that’s called mental illness.”
The comments have drawn immediate criticism from Christians, with ABC receiving approximately 25,363 calls on Monday morning, all related to Behar’s comments.
Christian rights groups were quick to denounce “The View” for “anti Christian” rhetoric, with Vice President Pence himself shaming ABC for allowing “religious intolerance.”
Behar addressed the issue, but refused to apologize, saying, “I don’t mean to offend people, but apparently I keep doing it,” and added, “It was a joke.”
